PLANNING- SYNOPSIS

SYNOPSIS

My music video is going to be based from the original song Vogue by Madonna. The video will follow themes of acceptance and how it is okay to not conform to society’s perfect image. It will also follow a theme of determination and reaching your goal by working hard and practising harder.  The narrative of my music video will start off by following a boy who has just got home from school and he will be one of my protagonists, the other protagonist will then come into the video and make a first appearance by getting out of a car. By following two adolescent teens with both different stories on reaching their goal I hope that it will be relatable to my target audience. The male role will be focusing on the art of drag and following his passion into becoming successful and proud of who he is. The other will then follow the storyline of a girl who is a dancer practising for an upcoming competition and how she is trying to reach her goal of acing her routine. When looking at the relationship between my visuals and lyrics (Godwin’s theory) I can see that the lyrics ‘It makes no difference if you’re black or white, if you’re boy or girl’ will relate to the concept of the protagonist dressing up in drag. Another set of lyrics that will link to the visuals will be ‘You’re a superstar, yes that’s what you are, you know it’ which will interpret that both career paths are aiming to become a ‘superstar’.

What are you looking at
Strike a pose
Strike a pose
Vogue, vogue, vogue
Vogue, vogue, vogue
Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It's everywhere that you go (look around)
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know (life that you know)
When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It's called dance-floor, and here's what it's for, so
Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it
All you need is your own imagination
So use it that's what it's for (that's what it's for)
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door (open up the door)
It makes no difference if you're black or white
If you're a boy or a girl
If the music's pumping it will give you new life
You're a superstar, yes, that's what you are, you know it
 Come on, vogue (vogue)
Let your body groove to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue (vogue)
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it
 Beauty's where you find it
Not just where you bump and grind it
Soul is in the musical
That's where I feel so beautiful
Magical, life's a ball
So get up on the dance floor
 Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it
 Vogue, (Vogue)
Beauty's where you find it (move to the music)
Vogue, (Vogue)
Beauty's where you find it (go with the flow)
